#### **Symposium**

The 2011 Ackerman Symposium, featuring four leading historians of eugenics, was held in conjunction with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s traveling exhibition, “Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race.” The exhibition and symposium provoked reflection on the broad history of genetic screening and intervention, from the early twentieth-century eugenics movement to present-day dreams of eliminating inherited disabilities through genetic manipulation.
